Unit Objectives

By the end of this unit, students will be able to 

• talk in Spanish about pets by identifying and describing pets body parts.
• name farm animals and their body part by visiting an animal farm in Spain.
• say how animals move by identifying and describing their movements.
• say how to take care of pets by discussing what they eat and drink, and describing pets states and feelings.

By the end of this unit, students will be able to

• identify and describe various pets and wild animals from Costa Rica by using adjectives for size and for color in conversations and in writing.
• identify types of homes for pets by imagining that they visit a pet store and match various pets with their homes.
• describe how animals move by imagining that they visit a park and compare the actions of various domestic and wild animals.
• identify parts of animals by imagining that they visit a veterinarian’s office and classify animals by the parts of their body.

• say how animals and people move by using verb moverse plus rápidamente and lentamente.

• locate subjects and predicates in sentences by identifying the action and who does that action in a variety of sentences.
• discuss games they play by reading about games people play in Puerto Rico.
