Extended Day Program
The St. Mary’s Catholic School Extended Day Program for Pre-kindergarten students 3 and 4 provides supervised after-school activities until 6:00 p.m.  The program is open each school day, with the exception of: the first day of school, the last day before the Christmas break, and the last day of school.
 
Enrollment:
Students may enroll at any time during the year, but we ask for one week’s notice.  Discontinuing enrollment requires one week’s written notice provided to the school office.  The program cannot accept children on a “drop-in” basis.
 
The fee is $80.00 per month and due before the 5^th of each month.   Please give the payment to Mrs. Stolp who will, in turn, give it to the school office.  Extended day payments are based on a nine month schedule, September-May.  We do not pro-rate the fee for December.
 
Retrieving Students:
Students must be retrieved no later than 6:00 p.m.  (After 6:00 p.m., a $1.00 per minute, per child Late Pick-Up Charge is due to the Program Supervisor upon retrieval of the students.)
 
The Extended Day Enrollment Agreement allows parents and guardian to designate other adults who may retrieve their child(ren); the designated person(s) must provide a specified form of identification.  In special circumstances, a parent or guardian may provide a signed note (or, in an emergency only, a telephone call) to the school office (254-778-8141) authorizing another adult to retrieve the child(ren).  To protect the safety of its students, St. Mary’s Catholic School will not release any child to a person without proper authority or identification.
 
Program Policies and Procedures:
Pre-kindergarten students remain in their rooms until 4:00 p.m.  After 4:00 p.m., students enjoy a snack break and usually separate into groups for, outdoor directed recreation and educational activities.
 
The Program Supervisor assumes the same authority and responsibility in the Program that teachers have in the classroom.  All St. Mary’s Catholic School policies and procedures – including the rules of discipline – apply to the Extended Day Program.

The Zone
The Zone is an afterschool school program offered by the City of Temple Parks and Leisure Services Department. It is offered to children in grades Kindergarten through 8th each school day until 6:00PM. At the Zone, students are provided homework time, a snack and the opportunity participate in organized activities without having to leave St. Mary's. All staff have attended EIM training, completed 15 hours of training and passed appropriate background checks.
